What is the optimal diet for a dog’s biological needs?

Veterinary experts say: proper nutrition that meets the natural, age and individual needs of the dog – a guarantee of health and long life.
Dogs from nature – predators. The structure of their jaws and teeth, the gastrointestinal tract is intended for feeding meat. Hence, the basis of their diet should be animal proteins, which from an early age are responsible for the formation of strong muscles, the strength of cartilage and ligaments, as well as the building blocks of the heart, brain, kidneys and other tissues and organs.
Feeding dogsFood, the key ingredient of which is animal protein, is well absorbed by more than 90%. In contrast, food, based on vegetable proteins (soy, etc.), is absorbed by only 60-70%, such rations also cause problems with obesity and the gastrointestinal tract in animals. That is why the sources of valuable animal protein in feed should be fresh meat, fish, liver and whole eggs.
In an optimal ratio with such valuable proteins in the rations for dogs should be carbohydrates derived from vegetable raw materials.
Dogs digest carbohydrates better than cats, however, according to veterinary specialists, the amount of digestible carbohydrates in dog food should not exceed 12 g per 1 kg of body weight. In addition to carbohydrates, the necessary vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids are supplied to the pet’s body from plant materials. In this regard, in the process of making professional rations for dogs, it is desirable to use natural additives – vegetables, chicory, flaxseed. It is also enriched with yeast, a valuable source of B vitamins and beta glucans, which have a positive effect on the immune system.

The second aspect that must be taken into account when choosing food is the pet’s age. The need for energy in animals of different age groups is not the same, so each of them corresponds to a special diet. In puppy food, the need of babies for more energy and, accordingly, for more nutrients (compared to older and older dogs) is taken into account. Feed for older dogs, which are less active and more prone to the development of diseases, contains less sodium and phosphorus, the excess of which leads to disruption of the cardiovascular and urinary systems. A smaller amount of proteins, the excess of which creates a load on the liver, but a greater amount of vitamins, especially E, C and A, are powerful antioxidants that strengthen the immune system and slow down the aging process of the body. It should be understood that dogs of different breeds age differently. Large breed animals age faster and they need to be transferred to the appropriate diet earlier.

The third aspect that must be considered when choosing food is the individual characteristics of the organism of pets. During periods such as pregnancy and lactation, dogs need a special diet. For example, the need for energy in dogs in the last third of pregnancy increases significantly. To fully satisfy her, starting from the fifth week, the feed intake should be increased by, from this point on the dog should be transferred to a specialized diet, with a higher content of proteins and fats.

When choosing a dog food, it is necessary to take into account such individual features as the level of activity, belonging to the breed (dog size), overweight and hormonal status (sterilization / castration). This allows you to prevent the appearance and development of characteristic diseases. In addition, feed pellets of different lines optimally match the capabilities of pets.
All these aspects of the company Bosch Tiernahrung GmbH & Co identified and taken into account when developing feeds for dogs Bosch. Today, fresh meat, fish, whole eggs and vegetable raw materials from ecologically favorable regions of Germany are used to make them. To preserve all the valuable nutrients in the feed, the company in its own high-tech production uses careful methods of processing raw materials, which also makes the taste of rations especially attractive to pets.
To meet the individual needs of animals in the production process, the company uses its own unique recipes, developed with the participation of leading veterinary specialists.
